Journalist Carlos Jiménez revealed that the detainees were identified as Roberto Reyes and Hanse Camarillo, supposed members of the criminal gang known as 'Los Gordos'. According to Jiménez, the individuals were involved in the management of properties that had been illegally taken in the Venustiano Carranza municipality, where they exercised extortion and claimed ownership of the properties. An image showed the detainees inside a house they allegedly usurped.

In a video shared by Carlos Jiménez, the detainees, accompanied by one of their partner, were seen trying to evict a group of women from a house. One of the involved individuals is heard shouting 'Don't get involved!' while struggling at the door to remove the women.

After receiving a report about a gunfire explosion on Circunvalación Avenue, in the Zona Centro neighborhood, agents from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City arrived at the scene. There they interviewed a 43-year-old man who was threatened by three individuals demanding cash, with the warning that they would harm his life and that of his family, in addition to evicting them from their home.

In response to the situation, the authorities proceeded with the detention of two men aged 38 and 30, as well as a 16-year-old teenager, all identified as members of the criminal gang 'Los Gordos'. The SSC of Mexico City confirmed that the detainees were alleged responsible for extortion in exchange for occupying homes in the Venustiano Carranza municipality. Carlos Jiménez shared photographs of those involved and a video documenting the eviction attempt carried out by them.
