The governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus, reiterated his support for the collective Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco after the tragic assassination of María del Carmen Morales and her son Jaime Daniel Ramírez in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga. Lemus stated that authorities at all three levels of government are working together to clarify the crime and bring those responsible to justice, without allowing impunity.
"I am very sorry for the death of María del Carmen Morales and her son Jaime Daniel. We will not allow impunity," expressed the governor after the tragic incident. The Jalisco State Attorney's Office confirmed that they are investigating the attack in the Fraccionamiento Las Villas, where a 26-year-old young man was attacked by two individuals on a motorcycle, resulting in the death of both.
Governor Lemus extended his condolences to the loved ones of the victims and sent a message of solidarity to the collective Guerreros Buscadores de Jalisco, to which María del Carmen Morales belonged, as well as to other groups of families of missing persons. The priority at this moment is to clarify the motive of the attack and identify those responsible.
So far, the institution indicates that there are no signs that the attack is related to María del Carmen Morales's search efforts within the collective. The woman had reported the disappearance of another son in March 2024, and in this tragic event, her mother was also injured. The government of Jalisco is committed to working tirelessly to achieve justice in this case and to prevent impunity from prevailing.
