The president of the Senate, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, confirmed that the voting on the ruling of the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law is scheduled for Monday, April 28. In statements, he mentioned that despite the possible doubts raised regarding the law's approval, it remains on the agenda for that day.

During the morning of Friday, President Claudia Sheinbaum expressed the intention to correct the aforementioned law after criticisms and accusations of censorship from the opposition and international organizations like the UN, especially regarding the "temporary blocking of a digital platform."

Fernández Noroña, in a video message, pointed out that it has not yet been determined whether a consultation on the project will be held or if it will be addressed in an extraordinary session, a decision that will be evaluated jointly with the federal leader. He emphasized that senators maintain close communication and periodic meetings with Sheinbaum Pardo.

Regarding possible misrepresentations by the opposition, Fernández Noroña admitted that, if necessary, the discussion time for the project could be extended to ensure transparency. He stated that opposition groups will continue with their actions, regardless of the final decision, but reaffirmed the government's commitment to respecting freedoms and maintaining a democratic environment.
