The Senate of the Republic has announced the opening of a dialogue process to enrich the opinion on the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Law, following the controversy surrounding the modifications to this law.
According to communication number 1202 dated April 25, 2025, Senator Adán Augusto López Hernández, president of the Political Coordination Board (JUCOPO), has decided to initiate an open and constructive dialogue process starting next Monday. This process will involve various economic, social, academic, and technical stakeholders interested in the law.
The objective of this process is to enrich the legislative debate through the active participation of all involved sectors. The aim will be to prioritize listening, respect, and the construction of consensus that addresses citizen concerns and the technological and economic challenges of the country.
In response to the request from the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, to review and, if necessary, modify the opinion, the decision has been made to withdraw it from the agenda scheduled for the legislative session on Monday, April 28. This action is considered an important step in the legislative construction that will reflect the collective opinions and the analysis of those involved in this strategic sector for the country.
