INE Launches Creative Campaign to Attract Young Voters

The National Electoral Institute (INE) is preparing for the judicial elections of 2025 and has implemented creative strategies to attract young voters. In an effort to promote participation, the INE has launched a campaign featuring anime characters, such as Goku from Dragon Ball Z and the intro of Neon Genesis Evangelion.

In a recent video from the institute, Goku can be heard urging voters not to play "duck" and to practice their vote on the INE page. Additionally, another recently released video used the intro of Neon Genesis Evangelion to encourage participation in the judicial elections.

The INE had previously turned to anime characters, like Shinji from Evangelion, to promote participation in past democratic exercises. In this regard, the importance of getting involved in these activities to strengthen democracy has been highlighted.

In the weeks leading up to the judicial election, the INE has disseminated information about the voting process and has promoted the use of the platform "Conóceles" to learn about candidates for ministers, judges, and magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation.

For the elections on June 1, six ballots will be available to choose different candidates in a historic judicial election in Mexico. The INE has also utilized its presence on social media, such as TikTok, to spread the importance of voting and has launched an electoral simulator to practice before election day.

It is expected that nearly 99 million people will be able to participate in this electoral process, in which 881 positions for judges, ministers, and magistrates will be elected. The INE's campaign, with the slogan "This election is for you, for me, for everyone," aims to encourage the participation of young people in this important democratic exercise.
