Investigation on the Cartel in Jalisco

The Attorney General's Office of the Republic reported that the Izaguirre Ranch, located in Teuchitlán, Jalisco, was a training center used by members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). The head of the FGR, Alejandro Gertz Manero, revealed that there are other similar centers in the region.

Since 2021, the Jalisco Human Rights Commission has alerted local authorities about the situation at the ranch, but no action was taken. Regarding the cremation of bodies, Gertz Manero mentioned that there is no evidence to support that claim, although there were signs such as trenches, holes, and ancient bone fragments found at the site.

Forensic experts from the prosecutor's office collected evidence on the ground, including stones, soil, and construction material, and found no temperatures exceeding 200 degrees in the analyzed areas. The FGR sent samples for analysis to the National Autonomous University of Mexico, which confirmed that the minimum conditions for cremation were not met, as it requires reaching 800 degrees.

Gertz Manero responded to questions about the existence of other possible training centers in Jalisco and the rest of the country, indicating that there are indeed lines of investigation in this regard. He noted that another training camp has been secured and that updates will be provided as progress is made in the investigation.
