President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that "privileges are over" during a conference at the Dos Bocas refinery, where a suspected sabotage affecting the production of the catalytic plant was recorded.
In response to criticism about the incident at the plant, Sheinbaum indicated that it is a complex issue and that they are investigating what happened. She added that she is accompanied by her presidential Cabinet in this situation.
After the release of the national GDP figures for the first quarter, the president highlighted that although Mexico is experiencing growth and has a solid economy, there are challenges such as tariffs and international uncertainty.
Furthermore, Sheinbaum referred to changes in car tariffs by Donald Trump, considering them beneficial for Mexico, and mentioned that they are being evaluated along with the impact they will have on the country.
In the same line, the president informed about the review of water concessions that revealed various irregularities to be corrected, such as the presence of lakes and lagoons on properties of politicians and businessmen.
During the conference held on Labor Day from the National Palace, Claudia Sheinbaum assured that the refinery in Dos Bocas is about to resume its production, reaching 100,000 barrels daily.
On the other hand, Health Secretary David Kershenobich shared data on the epidemiological situation of measles, rubella, and whooping cough in Mexico, where an increase in cases has been noted. In 2024, 3,433 cases were reported, while in 2025, 583 infections have already been confirmed, with a notable number from Chihuahua.
