Actress Ivonne Montero revealed a difficult experience she lived during the filming of a soap opera in which she shared roles with actor Humberto Zurita. According to Montero, there were violent situations where Zurita unexpectedly showed aggression. Although the relationship between both actors started amicably, it deteriorated over time.
"My character led the scene; he did not allow it and raised the tone more; I had to come out unscathed from the argument," explained Ivonne. During a discussion where her character had to confront Zurita, he took a book and threw it at her, causing a tense moment on set. Following this situation, Montero confessed that she experienced anxiety and was forced to take a break, interrupting the recordings.
On several occasions, the actress has mentioned being a victim of mistreatment by Humberto Zurita. However, the actor has denied these accusations, claiming he never had problems with Montero. Zurita hinted that the stories shared by the actress might have been exaggerated to gain media attention.
Despite Zurita's denial, Montero stated that the verbal assaults from the actor were not an isolated case. Additionally, other cast members also contributed to an unpleasant environment for the actress. This negative treatment motivated Ivonne to confront Zurita and put a stop to such unacceptable behavior.
The actress recalled a scene in which, after a series of mistreatments, she finally decided to confront Zurita. "I stood up, shouted at him a few times, and said: 'If you touch me, Humberto, you won't get away with it.' That level of aggression was not marked for him," shared Montero. Although they managed to finish filming the soap opera, their relationship was never the same.
Ivonne Montero had high hopes for this project, as it would be her first leading soap opera in Mexico. However, the treatment she received from Zurita deeply disappointed her. Despite this, they managed to complete the filming of the soap opera, but the tension between the actors persisted.
