In Querétaro, armed men burst into a wake where two brothers who were killed last Monday, April 28, were being honored. This armed attack took place in the Los Ángeles neighborhood, in the municipality of Corregidora, Querétaro, leaving at least four people injured.
The brothers were shot dead outside a home in the same neighborhood where the funeral was held. Two armed men suddenly appeared and fired directly at the victims before fleeing on foot, disappearing into a rugged area that belongs to the territory of Guanajuato.
On the night of Saturday, May 3, during the wake of the brothers, armed men again burst into the place, this time shooting at the attendees of the funeral. The assailants arrived at the house where the ceremony was taking place, opened fire without warning, and fled in a vehicle.
The Municipal Police and Civil Protection paramedics arrived at the scene after receiving the alert of the attack. Three injured people, one of whom is in critical condition, were transferred to the General Hospital under police custody. Another injured person was taken to a nearby clinic by their relatives for medical attention.
Authorities secured the area and began gathering evidence. The State Police deployed search operations to find those responsible, although no arrests have been reported so far. The Querétaro Prosecutor's Office has initiated an investigation to clarify the relationship between this attack and the murder of the brothers.
