Urgent Call for Equitable Justice in Mexico

Ana María Ibarra Olguín, candidate for minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation, advocated for justice with equity, social awareness, and institutional responsibility during a dialogue in the capital of the country. She emphasized the urgency of building a justice system that listens to those who have been ignored for years and rejected the idea of a cold, distant, and blind justice to the context of those who need it most.

In her statements, Ibarra proposed a justice that understands the context, recognizes work trajectories, and acts with social sensitivity. She criticized the current direction of the Supreme Court, arguing that this institution must move away from the politics of technicality as an excuse not to defend the people, and instead, position itself on the side of the citizenry.

An example she used was the case of a former worker from Ruta 100 who was initially denied a pension due to technical errors in the accreditation of his seniority. Ibarra highlighted her direct intervention in this case as a magistrate, overcoming procedural obstacles and analyzing the evidence to recognize the worker's right to seniority, which ultimately led to the granting of the pension.

During her journey, the candidate met with workers affected by the dissolution of Ruta 100, reiterating her commitment to a justice that does not hide behind technicalities and is truly committed to listening and responding to the needs of the population.
