After weeks of speculation, on Tuesday, the head of government, Clara Brugada, confirmed that the former mayor of Cuajimalpa, Adrián Rubalcava, will succeed Guillermo Calderón and become the new director of the metro of the national capital.

"Improvements will continue," the governor announced during the press conference she led this Tuesday. As LPO had reported, the head of government had promised Rubalcava this position several months ago when the former mayor did not find a seat in the Senate and after a brief stint at the Secretariat of Security headed by Omar García Harfuch.

"He is a great operator of specific projects who will help us improve the metro," Brugada stated, who strengthened the relationship with the former PRI member during the last campaign in the national capital.

Additionally, the head of government confirmed that the current director, Guillermo Calderón, will continue as an advisor to the new administration that Rubalcava will lead, especially in matters related to the works of Line 1.

"We will continue investing in him, we will continue working with new lines for its improvement," Brugada stated during the press conference, where she confirmed that Rubalcava would take possession of the position on the same Tuesday, after having submitted his resignation from the coordination of peace tables nationwide last week.

"Adrián Rubalcava has been characterized as an experienced person in public administration. The work of the Chinese company in charge has been delayed, and Calderón's team knows the details of the operation best, so he will remain to oversee its progress and ensure that contracts are fulfilled."

Finally, the confirmation came on Tuesday during a press conference held by the governor at the old Town Hall.
