After facing the PRI as president of the Livestock Union of Nuevo León, the deputy of Movimiento Ciudadano, Armando Gutiérrez Canales, assumed the position in the State Committee for Animal Health Promotion and Livestock Mobilization (CEFOSAMP).
In his new position, which is honorary in the livestock sector, Gutiérrez Canales will work alongside Noel Ramírez, whom he accused of taking over the union without running a campaign. The main objective will be to combat the crisis caused by the screw-worm and address health issues in the agricultural sector, as well as carry out inspection actions.
During the swearing-in, Marco González, Secretary of Regional and Agricultural Development, was present. The good relationship among the three actors reflected a reconciliation between Gutiérrez Canales, the state executive, and the livestock leaders linked to the PRI-PAN.
Prior to this new position, Gutiérrez Canales had disagreements with Adrián de la Garza Tijerina that affected his relationships in the livestock sector and generated conflicts in the local leadership in Paras. Therefore, he seeks to regain the livestock status and restore exports to the United States.
Noel Ramírez, who left his position at CEFOSAMP, is the current leader of the Livestock Union. Both had to carry out a smooth transition towards 2027, considering the importance of votes in the northern part of the state.
