The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued an official statement on Wednesday expressing its concern about the escalation of tensions between India and Pakistan following India's recent attack on Pakistan. The statement references an attack that occurred on April 22 in Indian Kashmir, where 26 civilians lost their lives, an incident that exacerbated bilateral tensions between both countries.
The Government of India, led by Narendra Modi, had promised a strong response to the attack in Kashmir, a disputed area between India and Pakistan. Two days after the incident, New Delhi identified three alleged attackers, two of whom were of Pakistani nationality.
Following a new Indian bombing that claimed the lives of 26 civilians and left 46 injured, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned last month's attack in Kashmir as a terrorist act. In its statement, Mexico urged both nations to resume diplomatic dialogue to de-escalate tensions and seek lasting peace. Mexico's position, according to President Claudia Sheinbaum, advocates for the building of peace in the world and fraternity among nations.
