Two individuals were arrested in Iztapalapa for armed robbery after threatening a man with a machete and stealing his belongings. The suspects were caught shortly after the incident.


Armed Robbery in Iztapalapa: Two Arrested

A 38-year-old man sought help from the police in the Iztapalapa borough of Mexico City after being attacked by a couple who threatened him with a machete to steal his belongings. The victim identified the weapon and money as part of what was taken during the robbery, according to the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Mexico City.

The alleged perpetrators, a 37-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman, were arrested and searched, where a 50-centimeter-long machete with a plastic handle and cash were found. They were subsequently informed of their constitutional rights and were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor for the case to be investigated and their legal situation determined.

The incident took place in the San Pedro Barrio neighborhood, between Cuanalá and Eje 6 Sur streets, where the couple initially managed to flee on a pink bicycle. After receiving the report, the police implemented a search operation and successfully located the suspects a few meters from the scene. During the intervention, the machete and the cash mentioned by the victim were seized.
