Armed Robber Captured in Gustavo A. Madero

In a confrontation with agents of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) in the Gustavo A. Madero mayor's office, Luis Haziel Durán was injured by a bullet in the arm and ultimately surrendered. During his detention, a firearm, a magazine, and five useful cartridges were seized from him. Durán had a criminal record as an ex-convict and was engaged in posting fake ads on Marketplace to lure his victims and then rob them.

Reporter Carlos Jiménez revealed that Durán used the Marketplace platform to arrange fraudulent meetings in the area. Despite his attempts to escape, Durán was captured by the authorities, thus avoiding a fatal outcome in the armed confrontation. This case adds to a series of criminal events related to the posting of fake ads online.

Recently, three young people were arrested for carrying out an armed robbery after posting a fake advertisement for a car on Facebook Marketplace. The victims were tricked into coming to a meeting point, where they were threatened with firearms and stripped of their belongings. The detained young people, aged between 17 and 20 years, were later captured in possession of stolen vehicles and a gun without cartridges.

According to information from Jiménez, these detainees could be linked to other crimes, including homicides in other areas of the city. The detention of Durán and the young robbers is set against a backdrop of rising crimes related to online scams and fraudulent transactions, especially regarding vehicle sales.

During a surveillance operation in the Seventh Section of Aragón, Durán was identified by SSC agents armed with a pistol. After a shootout with the authorities, Durán was injured and was finally captured. Local authorities have warned about the dangerous trend of increasing frauds and assaults resulting from online transactions, especially in the field of buying and selling vehicles.
