The conflict between José Ramón Fernández and David Faitelson continues to escalate. After the ESPN journalist called his colleague a hitman, the TUDN member recalled the problems that José Ramón had with drugs several years ago. Fernández Álvarez criticized Faitelson for attacking individuals at the behest of his 'boss', pointing out that he used to act differently with those same people, labeling him as a "hitman of journalism".
In response, David Faitelson attributed José Ramón's actions to his age, reminding that he is 79 years old. However, Faitelson did not stop there and lashed out at his former mentor, suggesting that perhaps Fernández used the term "hitman" because of his problems with cocaine at the end of his time at TV Azteca.
In a message on the social network X, Faitelson mentioned: "Maybe the term 'hitman' comes to his mind due to those serious problems you had with cocaine consumption in your final days at TV Azteca. Remember that it was so serious that the owner of the company removed you from your position and sent you to Spain to try to get you recovered".
José Ramón Fernández also made comments during his participation on ESPN, mentioning that David Faitelson had enjoyed an all-expenses-paid trip for him and his wife by Jesús Martínez, the owner of Grupo Pachuca. In response, Faitelson stated that the trip was paid for by Grupo Pachuca as part of his induction into the Hall of Fame, but he personally covered his wife's expenses.
Additionally, Faitelson pointed out that Fernández should not comment on Grupo Pachuca and its teams, given that his son works for them, which could represent a conflict of interest. The journalist expressed that Fernández is blind to this situation, despite the fact that his son is part of that dynamic.
We will have to wait and see if José Ramón Fernández decides to continue with this controversy or prefers to put an end to this confrontation, lamenting what he considers irresponsibility on the part of his colleague, attributing it to his age.
