Omar García Harfuch, Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection of the Government of Mexico, denied having received an attack against him.
“I have not received any attacks, what happens is that there are too many alerts that are discarded, ruled out, and permanently investigated, and that is what we are always doing,” he said during a press conference at the Chamber of Deputies.
García Harfuch clarified that he does not live in the house located in Polanco, mentioned in reports on social networks about a supposed incident on September 15.
“No, that house that is referred to is a very public house, I don't live there, it's an office that has a bedroom, it's very public, well, in the internal process we all were there, so we didn't have any prior alert.”
The official also denied absenting himself from his duties due to alleged threats.
“I have not had any withdrawal, neither spiritual nor on vacation, every day at six in the morning we have a cabinet presided over by President Claudia Sheinbaum, I have not missed any, every day it is permanent, the cabinet starts at six and I am there permanently, I have not been absent from my duties for a single day and I will not.”
