Mexico judge orders trial for suspect in Colombian musicians' murder

A judge in the State of Mexico ordered a trial against Cristopher “N”, alias “El Comandante”, for his alleged participation in the murder of Colombian musicians B-King and DJ Regio Clown, which occurred in mid-September, the State of Mexico Prosecutor's Office (FGJEM) reported. In a press release, the agency specified that the judicial authority considered the evidence presented by the Public Prosecutor's Office sufficient and resolved to link the accused to the process, equivalent to the start of the criminal case, for the crime of qualified homicide, also imposing the precautionary measure of justified preventive imprisonment. According to the information, investigations point to “El Comandante” having control over essential aspects of the crime's execution, by coordinating and directing the phase of attracting victims “through deception and the manipulation of their trust to ensure the planned result of the group” to which he allegedly belongs. Qualified homicide is punishable in the Criminal Code of the State of Mexico with penalties that can reach up to 70 years in prison, depending on the aggravating factors proven. The bodies of the victims, B-King and DJ Regio Clown, both from Colombia, were located in a rural area of the Cocotitlán municipality, in the east of the State of Mexico. The double homicide was attributed by the authorities to a criminal group seeking to market two new drugs from Colombia, known as “Tusi” and “Coco Channel”, in Mexico. State authorities then reported that the discovery came after an anonymous tip, which allowed the investigations to begin that led to the arrest of Cristopher “N”.

“Este es un tema importante para nosotros (los colombianos)”, y dijo que buscaba que las autoridades de México y Colombia concretaran esfuerzos binacionales en materia de seguridad e inteligencia.
