The government of Michoacán has presented a new plan to pacify the state, which will be the fourth in 19 years. President Claudia Sheinbaum announced a strategy based on three axes to comprehibly combat crime. The cabinet will consult with various sectors on the program. Key actions include strengthening federal forces, a prosecutor's office for high-impact crimes, an alert system for mayors, as well as scholarships and consultations with indigenous peoples, women, youth, authorities, and victims. Sheinbaum stated there will be no U.S. interference or 'war' in Michoacán, emphasizing that the peace plan will be defined through social dialogue. Meanwhile, tensions and marches continue in the region. In other news, the mayor of Pátzcuaro has issued an SOS, and a former mayor of Zinapécuaro has disappeared.
