Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum stated on Wednesday that Fátima Bosch, the Mexican participant in the Miss Universe pageant who confronted an executive in Thailand, is an example of how women must raise their voices. During her morning conference, the president commended Bosch's attitude, who with great dignity stated: 'I disagree' after being disrespected by Nawat Itsaragrisil, president of Miss Grand International (MGI) and regional director for Asia at Miss Universe, over a disagreement during the filming of promotional material. President Sheinbaum emphasized that the true beauty of women lies in their ability to express themselves and defend their rights. She also reflected on a common phrase with which many women were raised: 'you look prettier when you are quiet'. 'I say at public events that women look more beautiful when we raise our voices and participate,' affirmed the Mexican head of state. Her statements come after Bosch, 25, denounced her frustration and disappointment following an argument with the pageant's regional vice president, who called her foolish and shouted at her to be quiet for not posting images of the host country on her social media.
