On Wednesday, the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, the governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, and the mayors of the entity met to review the "Plan for Peace and Justice" announced by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo. Rodríguez Velázquez emphasized that this plan is not yet finished, as it is being built jointly with the different sectors of Michoacán society. In a press release, she highlighted that the meeting, which lasted over three hours, was in response to the presidential instruction to listen to the mayors, "to get to know their diagnoses, demands, and priorities, in order to build together the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice." On Wednesday, President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo met with the governor of Michoacán, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla. She also stated that for the strategy to be truly comprehensive and meet the population's needs, the participation of all social sectors is sought: traditional authorities, indigenous peoples, youth, women, men, churches, businessmen, rural workers, and victims. Secondly, it refers to economic development with justice, which will include social security and dignified wages for day laborers, investment in rural infrastructure, and agreements with the productive sector. Finally, the axis focused on education and culture for peace, with school, sports, and artistic programs.
