Mexican authorities on Monday conducted two simultaneous operations in the northern state of Sonora, detaining two members of the criminal organization 'Los Rusos,' linked to the trafficking of weapons, drugs, cartridges, and currency to the United States in the municipality of San Luis Río Colorado.

The arrests were made possible through intelligence work, during which security forces conducted fixed, mobile, and discreet surveillance of the residences to gather information as evidence to obtain a search warrant.

The detainees are Abdel 'N', alias 'El Toro', 63 years old, who has a criminal record for intentional homicide and injuries, and Miguel Ángel 'N', 'El Torito', 32 years old.

During the inspection of the properties, doses of fentanyl, cocaine, crystal, methamphetamines, useful cartridges, cash, a firearm, and three vehicles were secured.

Both Abdel 'N' and Miguel Ángel 'N' were placed at the disposal of the corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will define their legal situation.

Additionally, the residences located in the Reforma and Jalisco neighborhoods were sealed and placed under the custody of the authorities.

The operation involved elements from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Secretariat of National Defense (Defense), Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), Attorney General's Office (FGR), and National Guard (GN).

From February to early November, the Government of Mexico, thanks to the 'Northern Border Operation' – agreed upon with the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to avoid tariffs on Mexico – detained more than 8,517 people and confiscated nearly 107 tons of drugs, including 494 kilograms of fentanyl.
