In 2024, Mexican authorities seized 108% more assets than in the previous year. The Attorney General's Office reported the dismantling of a transnational money laundering network operating in casinos. Two of the 13 investigated individuals are subsidiaries of TV Azteca. Gabriel GarcĂ­a Harfuch reported the confiscation of 18,981 weapons from September 2024 to October 2025, during which 37,000 people were detained. Additionally, 56% of extortion calls originated from 12 prisons. The Ministry of Public Education (SEP) is preparing a reform for teachers that will allow them to control their positions and career advancement. The Navy dealt a blow to the 'Los Cromo' organization, an ally of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), involved in drug, weapon, and human trafficking, as well as hydrocarbon theft.
