Mexican authorities this Saturday in Quintana Roo, a Mexican Caribbean state, detained two alleged members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) identified as Marcos Josué 'N' and Ángel Roberto 'N', alias 'El Flaco'.

The state's Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC-QROO) reported in its X account that Marcos Josué 'N' is considered the main CJNG logistics operator in the entity, being in charge of the distribution of armament and tactical equipment in the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Puerto Morelos, Isla Mujeres, and Kantunilkín, the municipal seat of Lázaro Cárdenas.

It also detailed that the operation was carried out in the northern part of the state by the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) in coordination with the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar).

The detainees were charged with crimes against health and violations of the Federal Law on Firearms and Explosives.

Likewise, the SSC-QROO highlighted that during the capture of both individuals, two short-barreled weapons with loaded magazines containing seven and 11 cartridges respectively; 32 long-barreled weapons, all with magazines, one with 56 cartridges and another with 30; 12 short-barreled weapons with their magazines; 125 long-weapon magazines, and two silencers were seized.

The seizure also included four anti-riot grenades and four chemical grenades; 26 boxes of cartridges of different calibers with 50 cartridges each; 17 boxes with 20 cartridges each; nine bulletproof vests; nine black t-shirts with the legend 'Deltas Q. Roo CJNG'; 15 black 'Operativas Jaguar' caps; and six 'Deltas Operativo Jaguar' patches.

In addition to two large bags of presumed marijuana; 13 small bags with the same narcotic; 52 small bags with crystalline fragments similar to crystal; and 50 triangular bags with white powder similar to cocaine.

Also seized were five notebooks with notes, two backpacks, three plastic boxes, a refrigerator, a suitcase, four cell phones, a large case, a gray case, three drones (one with a controller and two batteries), two pairs of license plates from the state of Jalisco, and two vehicles: one Volkswagen T-Cross, gray; and one Nissan Frontier, white.

The agency reported that the detainees were made available to the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Combating the Crime of Drug Trafficking.

The CJNG is on the U.S. government's terrorist list, as it has been considered for years to be one of the most powerful in the world, alongside the Sinaloa Cartel.
