Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum commented on the failure of negotiations with transporters and producers, which has led to ongoing blockades across the country. She stated that not all demands can be met, especially when they pertain to defending privileges. Sheinbaum emphasized that the Water Law aims to bring order and a strategic vision to the consumption and use of this national resource. She also noted that while the initiative can be corrected in some points, it must be approved. The president added that some demands, such as a guaranteed price for all production, are unfeasible. Meanwhile, she mentioned that the government is helping farmers make their water use more efficient.
