Mexico's FGR Announces Arrest of Official in Drug Trafficking Case

The Attorney General's Office (FGR) announced the execution of an arrest warrant against a federal official allegedly involved in organized crime, drug trafficking, fuel theft, and arms trafficking, as part of an investigation targeting 13 individuals.

The investigation file 928/2024 was opened after the federal Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection obtained 'sufficient information' about a criminal network. Ten days ago, a federal judge issued arrest warrants for all those involved, although their identities must remain 'for obvious reasons' under legal confidentiality.

The FGR stated that 'in the corresponding procedure, fundamental data is being obtained that will allow the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) to continue and deepen this investigation.' Regarding the legal status of the individual, the Attorney's Office clarified that it may be disclosed 'as soon as the evidence is ratified with complete certainty'.

In an official statement, the FGR specifically referred to the case of Raúl 'N', about whom 'there has been diverse public information'. 'As the remaining arrest warrants are fulfilled and public hearings are held before federal judges, the information can be shared with complete precision,' the institution indicated.
