Twelve days ago, on November 15, Judge Rodrigo Rosales Salazar issued an arrest warrant against him for organized crime, arms trafficking from Guatemala, fuel theft, and money laundering. This information was not public until this week, when several national and international media outlets accessed a cooperation agreement signed on November 19 between Rocha Cantú and the Attorney General's Office. According to the document, where the native of Nuevo León is identified as 'alias Raúl Rocha', the businessman will become a protected witness and collaborate with Attorney General Alejandro Gertz Manero by providing information on hydrocarbon smuggling, financial networks, and 'links with officials and businessmen.' The Attorney General's Office accuses Raúl Rocha of working for the criminal organizations La Unión Tepito and the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG). According to a federal government official, Gertz Manero is responsible for this situation, which has put Claudia Sheinbaum in a new crisis. A request for Gertz Manero's resignation came from the National Palace, as had happened before during the transition period. At the end of 2025, potential replacements for the head of the Attorney General's Office are already being discussed, with names like Ernestina Godoy, Arturo Zaldívar, and Arturo Medina Padilla being mentioned.
