The Federal Government and the 32 state governors have agreed to implement strategies to unify the institutional response to the single high-impact crime on the rise.
Analysts report that the exchange rate is approaching 18 pesos per dollar. Claudia Sheinbaum stated that coordination with the states has led to a 37% reduction in high-impact crimes.
Specifically, in Coahuila, Edgar "Limon" Rodriguez was extorting all money transfer systems in the La Laguna region. Transporters, peasants, and ranchers denounced the payments he demanded. the Financial Intelligence Unit (UIF) has frozen the accounts of companies and individuals linked to Rodriguez.
At a meeting with governors, Claudia Sheinbaum called for a reduction in extortions within a year. She also noted that Adán Augusto López has 1.9 billion pesos at his disposal for managing operational expenses, supports, and subsidies for the Senate and the MORENA party.
The states have agreed on national support for the fight against extortion and pledged to align their legislation with federal reforms.
