President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that progressive movements in Latin America must conduct an analysis following the victory of right-wing candidates in countries like Argentina and, more recently, in Chile. This refers to the victory of far-right and Pinochetist candidate José Antonio Kast, who defeated Jeannette Jara, a candidate from the governing center-left coalition and a member of the Communist Party. The head of state emphasized that the result must be understood within the framework of a democratic decision and considered that it opens a moment of analysis for progressive movements in the region. Each country must be analyzed, obviously we want more governments close to the people, but that the decision is always made democratically. She added that in the Chilean case, "it was a democratic vote, the people of Chile chose who they want to govern them," so, she said, it is time to reflect on the reasons that explain this political outcome.Sheinbaum stated that the result in Chile represents "a moment of reflection for progressive movements in Latin America," particularly to understand "why these circumstances arise."In contrast, she stated that a similar scenario is not anticipated in Mexico, arguing that the current government enjoys citizen support. There is a lot of popular support for the government because we are delivering on our promises and have not betrayed our commitments. The president also attributed this support to social results, saying, "There are results: the reduction of poverty and inequality, and the majority of Mexicans agree with the transformation our country is undergoing."She added that internal unity has been a key factor, warning that "sometimes when there is no unity in movements, this leads to a decrease in support."Finally, Sheinbaum insisted that the continuation of popular support in Mexico is explained by "honesty and results" and by maintaining the vision that "government is to serve the people."

She stated that the situation in Mexico is different, as the government enjoys broad popular support due to honesty and concrete social results.
