Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum commented on the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to María Corina Machado. She stated that while she agrees with the advancement of women, there are other considerations in politics. "Obviously, I agree that women should advance, but there are other considerations. Not everything is about gender," Sheinbaum noted. She also recalled that during the 2012 presidential election, when the PAN's candidate was Josefina Vázquez Mota, she did not vote for her but for López Obrador. In response to a question about whether Machado's award is a significant moment for women in politics, beyond ideological considerations, the president emphasized that while she supports women's political participation, other factors must always be taken into account.
