Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo stated that the United States is not a 'role model' because that country has many problems that do not exist in Mexico. During an event in Marqués, Querétaro, where she was granting Benito Juárez scholarships to students, the head of the executive branch referred to the construction of high schools and higher education institutions in the country, so that more young people can study without the need to take an entrance exam. 'Now everyone can get in without an exam. What do we want? The best we can give is education. To the high school that is closest to your home, you don't need to take an exam,' said the head of the executive branch. Similarly, Sheinbaum Pardo highlighted that the high school model created during her government has, among several objectives, to prevent young people from dropping out of school due to lack of financial resources and lack of schools. She detailed that 150,000 new spaces for high schools are being built, mainly near residential areas to support students. The president addressed mothers and fathers, urging them to give love and values to their children. 'As a mother, as parents, what do we give our children? The frustration of a mother, a father, when they say, 'Where is he going to go to high school, if there is no high school nearby?', is enormous. 'That is why we are also fulfilling your dream that all young people will go to high school.' She also added: 'Listen, another issue that is sometimes said is, 'How are they going to get in without an exam?' Well, in the United States, and I'm not saying it's a model, because they have many problems with values and many other things, because there is a lot of drug addiction and many other issues that we do not have. But, using the United States as an example, do you know where young people go when they finish middle school? Well, first, love, affection, values.'
