Sheinbaum firmly rejected this, emphasizing Mexico's sovereignty. During the conversation, both sides highlighted joint efforts to reduce fentanyl trafficking and homicides. Sheinbaum added that a clause opposing interventionism has been added to Mexico's constitution. The call followed Trump's three public declarations of intent to participate in Mexico's security. The president also noted that the U.S. and Mexico will continue to collaborate within a joint commission.
