Carlos Barona, the eternal leader of the National Confederation of Popular Organizations (CNOP), was ratified as the president of the said PRI body, where he reaffirmed his support for Adrián de la Garza for the governorship along with all PRI leaders. He reiterated that the CNOP is the "strong arm" of the PRI and will support the mayor of the capital "from now on," since it is a pre-electoral year. "There is a person who is right-wing, hard-working, honest, and close, and that person will be our next governor, his name is Adrián de la Garza," said Barona. The state leader of the PRI, José Luis Garza Ochoa, also reaffirmed his support for the PRI mayor for the 2027 election: "We have a strong project that will solve the governorship for 2027, we are going to the election to reaffirm the trust that the people have placed in the PRI." At an event packed with alleged sympathizers of the tricolor party, it became a meeting to boost De la Garza towards the governorship, although the mayor decided to be absent "due to scheduling reasons." Present at the ceremony were the Secretary of Legislative Liaison of the CEN, Francisco Cienfuegos; former PRI governors Benjamín Clariond and Sócrates Rizzo, as well as local and federal deputies from the party. LPO learned that after a meeting with all party leaders, including national leader Alejandro Romero, the PRI members ratified De la Garza as their political project for 2027 and agreed to promote him publicly at key events of this style. He asked the 51 municipal leaders to support the gubernatorial candidate. "What people want is a real change, not for them to be playing on social media in something as serious as the future of the citizens of Nuevo León."
