Following the violent events in Jalisco and much of Mexico, Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda assured that Nuevo León is shielded by the 'Operation Muralla' on its peripheries. He noted that the entity is working on security to best prepare for the World Cup, whose first qualifying matches will be in March, and hopes the situation in the Bajío region improves. 'Lemus knows he can count on me, and he will resolve this quickly; just like in Monterrey, in a month we will have the playoff games and the World Cup without incidents,' added Samuel. So far, security authorities have not reported any incidents, except for a vehicle burning on the border between Nuevo León and Reynosa, however, they only collaborated in containing the incident in Tamaulipas territory. 'I really spoke with Lemus to offer him my support, that's how politics is; one detention, some good blow to the narco can change everything, now it's Jalisco's turn. I really believe that in a day or two everything will normalize,' the governor stated.
