The National Conference of Governors (Conago) issued a statement in which the country's leaders recognized the actions taken by the Secretariat of National Defense, carried out within the law, to weaken the criminal structures affecting the peace and tranquility of Mexican families. In the position statement, the governors highlighted the institutional coordination of the Security Cabinet, the Mexican Army, the Navy Secretariat, the National Guard, and the Armed Forces, emphasizing their commitment and professionalism to safeguard the population's integrity following the arrest of Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, alias "El Mencho." From the federal entities, the leaders reaffirmed their willingness to maintain permanent coordination with the Government of Mexico and to support the national security strategy led by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, with the aim of ensuring peace and security throughout the national territory. Likewise, Conago reiterated the commitment of state governments to strengthen institutional capabilities in prevention, intelligence, and law enforcement, as well as to promote comprehensive actions that address the structural causes of violence within their areas of competence. The document also expressed explicit support for the "decisive, responsible, and strategic" leadership of the national security policy by the President of the Republic, considering that inter-institutional coordination is key to facing the challenges in this matter. Finally, the governors stressed that security is a shared responsibility and that, in unity and with full respect for legality, they will continue to work to guarantee peace, stability, and well-being for all Mexicans.
