Mexico Evacuates Citizens from Middle East Amid Conflict

The Secretariat of Foreign Relations (SRE) of Mexico reported that to date, 1,555 Mexican citizens have been evacuated from Middle Eastern countries, including Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Iran, Qatar, and Bahrain, due to the escalation of the military conflict in the region. The ministry explained that the evacuees include both residents and tourists, with no injuries reported so far. The SRE reiterated that it is "not advisable to travel to the Middle East while the conflict situation prevails." It also noted that the Mexican Embassy in Iran continues to operate temporarily from Baku, Azerbaijan. The authorities urged those with scheduled flights to contact their airline or travel agency directly to confirm the status of their reservations. Mexican embassies and consulates in the region remain on alert to assist and provide consular protection to Mexicans in need.
