The mayor of Escobedo, Andrés Mijes, has thrown his hat in the ring for the governorship of Nuevo León, stating he has the preparation and necessary drive to lead the state. The municipal official also expressed his confidence in his party's internal process and the upcoming elections. "I feel very strong, vigorous, with a lot of energy, and I know I have the best profile to win Nuevo León," Mijes stated categorically. He emphasized that his intention is not just to participate but to win. "As a candidate, I am going to win the governorship," he highlighted. Despite his ambitions, Mijes welcomed competition, saying, "(Competition) is what makes us stronger and demonstrates who is the best." However, he called on national leadership to ensure a "level playing field" and clear rules. He criticized those who have "rushed" to install propaganda ahead of time. Mijes mentioned he has held dialogues with figures like Tatiana Clouthier to seek party unity and avoid divisions. He asked his political opponents to "not get ahead of themselves" and wait for official calls to action before engaging in proselytizing activities that could fracture the movement. He agreed with Clouthier that they will participate in the process, stating, "We want clear rules, we don't want anyone to get ahead. Someone has already rushed (Waldo Fernández), he is putting up banners with the image, using the president's image. He is going around pasting the walls."
