Mexico detains alleged cartel leader involved in drug trafficking to US

The Attorney General's Office (FGR) of Mexico reported this Friday the detention of Jesús 'N', alias 'El Gallo', who was identified as the supposed leader of the criminal organization United Cartels, which operated in the Mexican state of Michoacán (west), and is responsible for drug trafficking to the city of Kansas, United States. The FGR specified, in a press release, that during the operation, seven other people were also captured and that the detentions were carried out in the municipalities of Tancítaro, Uruapan, Apatzingán, located in Michoacán, while one of the investigations took place in the city of Santa María La Alta, in the state of Puebla (center). According to the document, the proceedings, led by elements of the Criminal Investigation Agency, National Defense, the National Guard and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), were based on intelligence work with monitoring, tracking on different digital networks and georeferencing. 'These actions allowed us to identify the possible members of the criminal organization, their areas of operation, as well as their financial and logistical links, which guided the operational actions that we report,' it highlighted. Thus, 'the securing of the inspected properties, long and short firearms, chargers, cartridges, possible narcotic and cash money, among other objects' was carried out. 'All these actions allowed us to establish that this criminal organization was in charge of the trafficking of drugs from Mexico to the US city of Kansas City, where the narcotic was distributed,' the agency noted. The rest of the detainees were identified as Jaime 'N', Flavio 'N', Bulmaro 'N', Joaquín 'N', Agustín 'N', Uziel 'N', and José 'N'. Michoacán is one of the targets of the Government of Mexico to combat the problem of drug trafficking, after the pressures of the United States Government to stop the drug cartels, so it has also deployed Army and National Guard agents as part of the Michoacán Plan for Peace and Justice.
