René Franco Exits ‘El Heraldo Radio’

The program ‘Heraldo Showbiz’, hosted by entertainment journalist René Franco, came to an end this Friday, March 27. This followed the removal of the show from the El Heraldo Radio broadcast schedule, marking the end of an era that lasted less than a year. The show aired Monday through Friday in the afternoon slot with a format focused on news, debate, and interviews from the world of entertainment. It is worth noting that Franco also left Radio Fórmula after his historic radio program ‘La Taquilla’ concluded, one of the most representative spaces of his radio career. Furthermore, in 2025, the host himself acknowledged that his YouTube project did not manage to consolidate as he had hoped, which evidenced a transitional phase in his media career. The departure of ‘Heraldo Showbiz’ occurs in a context where radio stations are seeking to reinforce their informational content, betting on newscasts in key time slots. It was the host himself who announced his departure through a video uploaded to the station's social media, in which he pretended to be crying upon receiving the news. With this closure, a proposal that attempted to combine entertainment and analysis is extinguished, one that failed to consolidate in the programming of El Heraldo Radio. Nevertheless, his stay at the station was brief, not reaching a full year on the air. This move adds to a series of recent changes in the communicator's career trajectory.
