The Labor Party (PT) in Mexico has confirmed that it will maintain its coalition with the 'Morena' party for the 2027 and 2030 elections, refuting rumors of a potential split. According to an insider report from LPO, despite pressure from the opposition, the leadership of the PT, led by Beto Anaya, has decided to remain in the coalition of the Fourth Transformation. In exchange for its support, the PT has requested the right to nominate its own candidates for governor in three of the seventeen states holding elections next year. These are Baja California, Baja California Sur, and Zacatecas. Specifically, for the 2027 elections, the PT is considering the candidacy of former Tijuana mayor, Montserrat Caballero. The party also insists on its own presidential candidate for 2030: Senator Gerardo Fernández Noroña. Finally, the PT has positively assessed the failure of the electoral reform and the partial approval of the 'Plan B' on the same issue, which has been a lifeline for the party.
