During her weekly conference, the governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, responded to recent statements by former governor Jaime Bonilla. Avila Olmeda expressed her concern over the carelessness with which Bonilla addresses such delicate issues, emphasizing that his assertions lack foundation and concrete evidence. "It is unworthy for a former governor to make such serious accusations without presenting any evidence, solely with the intention of defaming," stated the governor. She also highlighted the irresponsibility of such comments, which aim to divert attention from the important issues facing the people of Baja California, who, by the way, express pity at the tantrums of their former governor. In a call for reflection, the governor invited Bonilla to reconsider his words, emphasizing that the citizens of Baja California deserve leaders who meet their expectations and that state politics must prevail over personal attacks and tantrums. The head of state concluded her intervention by stressing the need to maintain a level of dignity and respect in politics, reiterating that the well-being of Baja California must be the priority of all its leaders. It should be recalled that recently, former governor Jaime Bonilla Valdez, current leader of the PT in the entity, was impeached by a judge for embezzlement, abuse of authority, and illegal use of attributions, considered as a co-author with malice in the questioned contract with the company Next Energy, in which they intended to commit the payment of millions of pesos from Baja Californians for 30 years.
