Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo stated that the country will maintain its position against intervention in the conflict between Iran and the United States. She supports the call for peace by Pope Francis. "We celebrate the pope's permanent call for peace," said Sheinbaum. She noted that the pope's position is not only that of a religious leader but also of a head of state calling for worldwide peace. Sheinbaum also mentioned that due to the conflict in the Strait of Hormuz, which accounts for 20% of global fuel production, prices for gasoline and diesel have risen. "We are looking to reduce prices without this impacting the people," she concluded.
