New Conference Format to Inform About the Judicial Reform

With the start of the election process for judges, magistrates, and ministers of the Judiciary, judicial authorities in Mexico have established a new 'morning conference' to inform the population about the Judicial Reform. District Judge Yasmin Murillo communicated that starting Monday, October 21, these conferences will be held from Monday to Friday at 8:15 AM at 1508 Revolution Avenue.

In these 30-minute conferences, topics related to the Judicial Reform mentioned by the President of Mexico in his morning conferences will be discussed. General judicial cases and those specifically linked to the reform will also be addressed, as well as protests that have arisen in response to it. Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum mentioned that article 61 of the Amparo Law establishes that this measure cannot affect existing constitutional reforms.

The National Association of Circuit Magistrates and District Judges of the Federal Judiciary (Jufed) decided to maintain the partial suspension of jurisdictional duties across the country, a measure supported by 1,500 female and male judges and magistrates who make up the Article 41 collective. Magistrate Iván Zamarripa expressed that this decision aims to counteract the misinformation coming from the National Palace and the government.

Magistrate Carlos Soto added that these daily conferences seek to clarify doubts generated by the Government, with the goal of countering the biased information being disseminated. President Claudia Sheinbaum criticized Judge Nancy Juárez for ordering the removal of the Judicial Reform from the Official Federal Gazette, arguing that she is overstepping her functions. There will be a question and answer section to address public inquiries.

The conferences will be broadcast through the YouTube channel 'Judicial Independence MX.'
