Xóchitl Gálvez Criticizes Claudia Sheinbaum's Noncompliance

Xóchitl Gálvez, who was a candidate for the presidency from the opposition block PRI-PAN-PRD, expressed her discontent towards the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, for not complying with the instructions of Judge Nancy Juárez. The judge had determined that the reform to the Judicial Power should be removed from the Official Diary of the Federation. Gálvez emphasized that what Sheinbaum cares least about is complying with the law, stating that resolutions are complied with or challenged, not opined upon.

In recent days, Claudia Sheinbaum reiterated that she will not withdraw the reform from the Official Diary of the Federation and announced that she would file a complaint against the Federal Judiciary Council to prevent the issue from being left unpunished. Morena legislators supported Sheinbaum, highlighting that the judge was overstepping by suggesting that she should step down if she did not comply with the ruling. Although the possibility of carrying out a political trial against the judge has been mentioned, for now, they will focus on allowing the judicial reform to follow its appropriate process.

Xóchitl Gálvez, who competed against Claudia Sheinbaum in the presidential elections and lost, has maintained her criticism regarding the approval of the reform to the Judicial Power. In this regard, Gálvez pointed out that Sheinbaum's stance of not complying with the judge's ruling is similar to that of former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, indicating that she only issues her opinion instead of complying with the judicial order. Gálvez has decided to disregard the judge's decision, alleging a lack of legal foundation in it.
