The President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, declared that they are acting in accordance with the law, while judges, magistrates, and ministers are those who violate the rule of law. She emphasized that Article 61 of the Amparo Law states that the amparo trial is inadmissible against additions or reforms to the Constitution. According to Sheinbaum, in at least 30 years, the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) had not received notification to eliminate a previously published reform.
Facing accusations of contempt and political violence against women, the governor rejected the claims and announced that, once formally notified, the Legal Counsel of the Presidency will question whether it is feasible for a judge to order the removal of a decree from the DOF when Congress ordered its publication.
For her part, the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, criticized that due to the strike of the judicial workers, 12,448 hearings were canceled between August and September of this year. Sheinbaum reported that she has not formally received the order from Nancy Juárez Salas, a judge of the Nineteenth District Court, who, according to her, is violating the Amparo Law and is in contempt.
The situation becomes even more tense with the criticisms regarding why members of the judiciary continue to receive their salaries if they are on strike. Sheinbaum questions that if they are on strike, why are they still receiving their paychecks? The president mentions that this situation affects more than 13,000 cases that are stalled due to the strike of the judicial workers.
