The morning in the state of Guanajuato was marked by violence due to two attacks with "car bombs" in the municipalities of Acámbaro and Jerécuaro. The first incident occurred in Acámbaro before 6:00 AM, in the Historical Center, when a vehicle exploded in front of the local Public Security Secretariat, injuring three police officers, one of whom was taken to the hospital. Simultaneously, a second attack was reported in Jerécuaro, with the explosion of a patrol car.
The state's Attorney General confirmed the three injured persons in Acámbaro and material damage to the Public Security Secretariat, while in Jerécuaro only material damage was recorded. Authorities are collecting information and evidence to clarify the events and identify those responsible.
Regarding these events, the governor of Guanajuato, Libia Dennise, stated that a joint operation by air and land has been implemented in Acámbaro and Jerécuaro, with the participation of the Guanajuato Public Security Force, Municipal Police, the National Guard, and the Mexican Army, aimed at reinforcing security in the area. The governor emphasized that the entire state is united in the effort to restore peace to Guanajuato.
