The Public Security Secretary of Guerrero confirmed that they were carrying out coordinated efforts with the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the FGE to reinforce security measures in several municipalities of the Costa Grande. The population has been asked to remain calm, as security forces are working to ensure order and safety in the region. Currently, activity, transportation, and other services have been reported suspended, but authorities expect to restore normalcy throughout the day.
The city council emphasized that with calm and cooperation, this difficult moment will be overcome and the desired peace will be regained. For her part, the governor of Guerrero, Evelyn Salgado, informed through her social media that she was at the Command, Control, Coordination, Communication and Computing Center (C5) Acapulco, where the Table for the Construction of Peace was held to address the events that occurred in Tecpan de Galeana.
Regarding the incidents in Tecpan, Guerrero, the arrival of armed individuals in the municipality followed by clashes between criminal groups was reported. The preliminary toll includes 12 people killed, including two municipal police officers, five suspected criminals arrested, as well as weapons, ammunition, vehicles, and tactical equipment confiscated. The Municipal Government of Tecpan de Galeana is working to restore order and security in the community, with the support of state and federal authorities.
The municipality has requested citizens to follow security recommendations, such as securing their homes properly and not going out unless absolutely necessary, collaborating with security forces to report any suspicious situations.
