Federal deputy of the Ecologist Green Party of Mexico, María Luisa Mendoza, reported that she was a victim of an attempted robbery on the Mexico-Querétaro highway, near Tepeji del Río, in the state of Hidalgo. The incident took place around 9 PM on Thursday while she was heading to Querétaro with a companion.

In a social media broadcast, Mendoza explained that they encountered stones on the highway, heading towards Querétaro, and advised not to stop in such situations. Despite this, the driver of the vehicle stopped, which facilitated the robbery, although they managed to continue their journey quickly despite receiving three bullet impacts during the incident.

The deputy emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of reporting and strengthening evidence so that justice can act more effectively in cases like this. Additionally, she called on the National Guard to take measures to ensure safety in the area.

Mendoza stressed the need for authorities to act, specifically asking the National Guard to intervene. She expressed her concern not only for motorists but also for public transport and other people affected by similar situations in that region.

Finally, the deputy thanked the municipal police of Jilotepec, the state police, and the transporters who provided support. She insisted on the importance of strengthening the culture of reporting and promised to follow up on the actions of the National Guard to prevent these incidents from continuing to occur in the country.
