PAN Secures Suspension Against Judicial Reform

The PAN bench in the Senate announced that it has obtained a new suspension against the reform of the Judiciary, through an amparo granted by a court in Yucatán. This resource was promoted by Senator Mayuli Latifa Martínez Simón from Quintana Roo and was recently admitted. This is the second amparo accepted for the PAN bench, added to those presented by Susana Zatarain and Gustavo Sánchez.

In a statement, the PAN emphasized the importance of respecting the resolutions according to the law. The suspension issued last Friday establishes that the authorities cannot apply the reform decree to the Judiciary published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on September 15.

Regarding the amparo, it is detailed that the authorities must refrain from carrying out any action to enforce the reformed provisions. Furthermore, it is mentioned that the Senate must suspend the electoral process and avoid proceeding with the call to compile lists and swear in the possible winners of the election.

The scope of the amparo also includes the request that the State Legislatures, the Congress of CDMX, the INE, and the Judiciary Council do not execute the decree. Similarly, a court in Baja California ordered the suspension of the reform in response to an amparo presented by Susana Zatarain and Gustavo Sánchez.
