The president of the Senate Board of Directors, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, announced that the PAN senator, Marko Cortés, requested a temporary leave from his position because he is in Spain. During the session held this Tuesday, Fernández Noroña informed the attendees about the communication received from Cortés. Senator Noemí Camino read the leave request sent by the PAN member and, after a vote, it was agreed that Cortés would separate from his seat from October 29 to October 31.
Regarding the leave request from Senator Gina Gerardina Campuzano González, it was also granted by the Senate. As a result, Omar Francisco Gudiño Magaña and María Salomé Elyd Sáenz were appointed as substitutes for Marko Cortés and Campuzano González, respectively.
On social media, Marko Cortés shared images with the Venezuelan opposition figure Edmundo González and the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo. It is important to highlight that these temporary leaves are granted in a specific context, generating relevance in the dynamics of parliamentary activity in the Senate.
